It's written from the pov of Luke, a fourty-something, widowed father of a teenage son, Emmet. Now I'm spending all my free time with the team—and with Landon—and the more we're together, the deeper our friendship grows. Their relationships - from the first encounter, through building friendship and those first non-dates, till finding forever together were beautifully written. 🥺 this aspect of the story was probably what had me crying the most in this book bc seeing that close father-son bond they had when emmet was a child brought to life again just felt satisfying. I wished, I cheered and I swooned. He just happens to be a man. Everything about it felt so personal, although I'm not a widower bringing up a surly teenager and having a bisexual awakening, it didn't matter. I feel comfortable talking about anything with him, from religion and politics to mental health and sexualities. Miller's as wide as he is tall, and he's only eighteen years o... Books like You & Me by Tal Bauer. His teenage son is a mess, and Luke hasn't a clue how to reach him. This might be a relatively low angst book for Tal in terms of the setting and subject, but have no doubt, it's still an emotional rollercoaster of a ride which goes through some real lows at times which were heart-breaking to read.

He even bends over backwards to keep an easy relationship between Bowen and his ex-wife. I wanted to love it but it didn't fit. And the end proposals really surprised me. I've never been with a man, but now? Landon is out, but Luke isn't, and it isn't something easy for him to just talk about or even process. I had a hard time connecting with Luke.

✧ the way luke and landon were clingy with one another after they got together. Between this, and the joy of watching two older guys become friends then fall head-over-heels in love, this book is really something special. Only our clothes separate us, and if I could, I'd rip them away. A beautiful story, well done, and meaningful.

I was hesitant on starting this book for the same exact reason I had anxious thoughts of third act breakups and the amount of conflict this book would have after seeing the page count (ALSO, I JUST DON'T LIKE KIDS IN GENERAL SO 😶), but fuck, can this book never end? Unlike Luke and Emmett, Landon and Bowen are incredibly close, but Landon has his own ghosts to banish as he struggles to balance his anxiety over Bowen and his well-being and the complicated relationship between him and his ex-wife. It doesn't matter that he's never been attracted to a man before, Landon is everything Luke wants. Certain truths are revealed, a bit at a time. It's pointless to even imagine we could be something together. I just love the way both Luke and Landon were written separately and, especially, together. I felt bad for Emmett. But love story aside, it's magnificent. New Release Book Review: You & Me by Tal Bauer. It made me think of constant moments when I was in similar situations like Emmett. But the few we got were a thing of beauty. On the other end of the spectrum, it made me smile so much as well. Wonderful storyteller, Tal Bauer gives us an awesome culmination and epilogue, that had me crying huge tears of happiness for this couple we have come to love. President Brennan Walker captivated me from the moment I walked into his Oval Office. Even if it is sort of smack-dab in the middle of the story.

It was making me an emotional mess lol. If you like sappy Tal Bauer and older MCs, get ready for a romance that you can clutch your Kindle over and cry happy tears. And how badly will this go up in flames? I've been reading a LOT of books by Tal Bauer recently, and You & Me has to be one of my favorites. "You & Me" was so engaging. You're a part of me somehow. Looking at what I'd drawn, I couldn't tell.... I wanted my life to stay twined with Landon's. Still alllllllll the cheese you'd expect from this author, though. But, all in all, I enjoyed this quite a bit until about 60/65%. There is no point of view from Landon and while I do understand that the change would have broken the flow of being so fully in Luke's head, I would have liked to have his viewpoint somewhere in the book. You and me by tal bauer. They had so many precious moments together as friends and I just adored how it turned into attraction for Luke. How could someone make such a big impact on my life in so short a time?

We pushed our faces together, the four of us beaming and sharing our tears, sharing our joy, sharing our love. Time moves along with his thoughts, the football season, Luke and Emmet getting closer, and their is talk about Bowen's graduation and the boy's college aspirations.
