I really don't know what to say about this.

A special mention should go to Gavin, who was there for exactly zero (0) reason. The party started at ten. You learn something about a character — some question they have, some mystery that bugs them — find out the answer, and THEN learn the twist and the REAL answer, all within the same chapter. This lie will kill you free. Maybe i'll pick this up either physically or virtually in the future, but i wasn't that captivated by the story anyway so i doubt it. The author exclusively wrote in metaphors, to such an extent that not a single statement was straight forward and listening to the story was like wading through drying cement. But Ruby liked being in the one place in the entire house where nobody would follow her, tug on her sleeve, or fill up the silence. He was almost a rapist, was obsessive and violent, jealous. She has a life off the course. The characters are brought in under the premise of winning a college scholarship and each one has need for that money for their future, but our host wants answers and everyone has a secret that could unravel their entire world. Now, for the cons... Cons: 1. Definitely worth a credit check this one out because it will leave you guessing to the very end. The EFFING characters. Some of the writing is very flowery, lyrical and poetic and then sometimes the writing is juvenile and ends up reading like a Wattpad fanfic.

The writing is not great; when I first saw this book, I was surprised I hadn't heard more about it, but after reading it, I understood why. So when they each receive a letter inviting them to work at her island resort for the summer, they're curious. I Killed Zoe Spanos. While the plot might have been lacking on some of the finer details, the beautiful qualities of the writing really won me over.
