Reborn Rich Episode 1 Recap

There's something about the way Yoon Je Moon plays Young Ki, that makes Young Ki come across as rather pitiful, even as he tries his best to survive in the succession race. He sees Hae-In and Yoon-Ki. That's brilliant, because, as we see, no one would believe him anyway, if he tries to go with the real reason he's trying to get Grandpa Jin off that plane, which is a bomb on board the original flight. People are baffled, but the explanation given is that it's the "future value. " Following this, he returns home, where he closely follows the news for an understanding of the current world. Do Jun is the youngest grandson, and right now, he is perfectly disoriented at this turn of events. That wistful, wordless way that Do Jun just looks at her, is just so poignant. Motivated to have Seong-jun arrested, Chang-je and Hwa-young support Min-yeong in launching a hearing to investigate Seong-jun. In our opening set of episodes, I couldn't help wondering whether Do Jun's actions now, are the reason why there had been an accident, and why Hyun Woo didn't have any information about Do Jun. Reborn Rich (Tv Series 2022

But his grandson is not really a child and tells his grandfather that he was just giving him the validation he needed for an answer that would present itself in the future. So what do you guys think of this and the 15th episode? Reborn Rich K-Drama: Episode 1 Recap & Ending –. And now, that idea of Do Jun affecting the future, is becoming stronger, with how he quotes from Grandpa Jin's autobiography, and Grandpa Jin looks like this is the first time he's ever thought of things that way. He's soon appointed as the chairman of Soonyang. Episode 1 of Reborn Rich starts in an international bank where Yoon Hyun-woo, is signing some documents and the bank deposits 600 million dollars to his account to withdraw whenever he likes. But also, this clearly demonstrates just how important Soonyang's succession is to Grandpa Jin, that he would literally risk his life, in order to ensure that the right person is appointed CEO of the financial holding company. Ending with the highest viewership rating in 2022, Reborn Rich imparts a gripping story filled with twists.

I believe Shin Hyun Bin got a lot of flak for her role as Min Young, and I feel that it's mostly that the writing doesn't serve her. Regardless, Hyeon-woo reports the overseas account to the new chairman Seong-jun who fires the finance manager and promotes Hyeon-woo to replace him. Previously, we were shown that his desk has the full family tree of Soonyang, she's presumably looking at Do Jun who passed away back in the early 2000s. In the revenge drama series, Song Joong Ki returns to the small screen with an interesting role as he plays Yoon Hyun Woo, a senior manager of Soonyang who worked with the company for five years. And, it's great to see that Do Jun is able to appreciate how special and meaningful this is, to Grandpa Jin, and express it, in the way he agrees to call the PR Department the next day, and describes how Grandpa Jin's passion had always been behind Soonyang Motor's emphasis on safety. To be born privileged is determined by the birth lottery, and life cannot be repeated as it is. Some viewers found it hard to wrap their heads around the fact that Song Joong Ki plays both Hyun Woo and Do Jun, and that through a good portion of our story, Hyun Woo and Do Jun exist in the same world, and are played by the same actor, and nobody around them seems to notice. She asks him to go to look for Sung-Joon. Reborn Rich (TV Series 2022. I would say that out of the various tracks, it's Track 1, Gravity, that stands out to be me the most. Lets go back to episode 1 of "Reborn Rich" and see how the dots connect. I actually find these interactions between Grandpa Jin and Do Jun so much more precious, and charged with so much more real emotion, than what I'm able to detect between Do Jun and Min Young. It seems to me that that's his way of breaking free from his father's expectations of him, which he feels he will never be able to fulfill.

Reborn Rich K-Drama: Episode 1 Recap & Ending –

Towards the end of "Reborn Rich" Episode 3, we see that it was he who had set up Mason Oh to buy out the company that was on the verge of bankruptcy at an estimated value of $500 billion. Logically, I understand why Show would take our story back to Hyun Woo's timeline. She reveals she's going to make Yoon-Ki imprisoned. Upon checking, he found out that it was a 600 million slush fund that serves as the company's dummy account that only exists on paper. Launching a wide investigation on conglomerates' illegalities to sway public opinion, Dong-ki tips Chang-je to probe Do-jun. But that is his only blind spot. Waking up, he now lives as Jin Do-jun, the youngest grandson of Soonyang's Chairman Jin Yang-cheol (Lee Sung Min).

So sneakily brilliant, honestly! As it turns out, however, apparently, Hyun Min was telling the truth. Here are a few things that I think would be helpful to keep in mind, to maximize your enjoyment of your watch: 1. But, it's still pretty compelling to see him shed his sweet happy groom facade, bit by bit, until he goes from loving groom massaging his bride's shoulders, to cynical adversary, warning his partner about the rules of the game she's about to enter. I would be having lots and lots of regrets about marrying him, right about now, if I were in Hyun Min's shoes.

‘Reborn Rich’ Episode 1: Betrayed Song Joong Ki Returns As Third-Generation Chaebol

There's this thing that Show does, where it plays with our understanding of our characters' contexts, and therefore, our perception of what is true and what is untrue. Yoon Je Moon as Young Ki. Mr. Yoon immediately told this to his superior, Mr. Kim but he got rid of the evidence and warned him not to talk about it. MANAGING EXPECTATIONS / THE VIEWING LENS. He asks her how she will deal with Yoon-Ki.

I'd thought that perhaps Show would give us more insight into Do Jun's emotional landscape in a later episode, to explain this better, but it doesn't. I love how Do Jun's compassion and his decision to give Driver Ha (Park Ji Hoon) a second chance, has resulted in this my-life-for-yours type of loyalty. When Grandpa Jin wets his pants and becomes aware of it, that look of.. shame, is so evident. We don't know the details of this, but given that Hyun Woo has no information on Do Jun, my drama senses are pointing to the possibility that that accident had involved Do Jun, and had likely killed him, which is why Hae In talks about wanting her son back, in that scene in episode 1. Yoon Hyun-Woo, who calmly convinces the vice chairman, understands that there is still a clear gap between the two.

I guess there is meaning in either interpretation, but for me, personally, I've spent so much time with Do Jun and gotten so invested in his plan to buy Soonyang, that I instinctively prefer to think of Hyun Woo's time as Do Jun as real. One of the big highlights of this episode, for me, was watching the events around the wedding of Sung Joon and Hyun Min. His junior was instructed to kill him by the people "who need the slush fund. Early Access (US$5): Recipe For Farewell. Ironically, I find that I care more about the fact that Hyun Min's efforts to be a good wife, are derided and rejected by Sung Joon. Seong-jun announced big plans for the company, including that he would turn the company into one that serves the nation at the ceremony accepting his position as the new chairman. At the same time (again, mentally speaking), I can appreciate that Show does a nice job of tying its various threads and timelines together, so that what we've seen in Do Jun's timeline enriches our understanding of what we're told is going on, in the present, in Hyun Woo's timeline. Also, it's kind of mindbendy to think about the possibility that perhaps the "accident" had been engineered, because people were getting jealous of the favor that Do Jun's getting from Grandpa Jin. With all those twists, the drama comes to a full circle and ties its loose ends by answering the questions built from the run of the series. I don't really understand how that works, to be honest. Jin Young-Ki tries to sacrifice his son but his son retaliates against him and pushes him under the bus. She praises the police. You can ask why, but to me its easy to explain, the plot wouldn't happen if Do Jun recalled who he was exactly and how he exactly got to that moment, you can say its 'selective amnesia' or it could be severe guilt that prevented him from seeing whats in front of him, Hyun Woo was blinded by revenge throughout this entire period of time. As a result, I never bought into it, and didn't even care, when they argued or broke up.

When he finds himself in a spot, he often doesn't speak immediately, which I feel is wise, because that gives him time to assess the situation, and think about what to say or do next. And, there are distinct lashings of humanity and heart that peek through from time to time, like when he explains to Sung Joon why he'd taken the blame for him. You can still see glimmers of Chang Je's old timidity peeking through, but on the surface, he's standing taller and speaking with more confidence. She asks him if he wants to ruin it.

He must now face the consequences of his actions and his son won't cover for him. Ye-Joon meets with Sung-Joon. Do Jun can read her like an open book, honestly. He promises not to tell people about what he saw in Yoon-Ki's office.

He reveals they have a son. And then, it's fascinating to watch Hwa Young realize that she's dug herself into this hole. That's a very efficient way of pulling us back to Do Jun's reality, I must say. How ironic, that the only person who seems to understand her, and respect her for her actions, is the very person whom she's guarded against, in the family, all these years. The chairman of the Soonyang Group, Jin Young-ki, is leaving the courthouse with his bodyguards, and the reporters disclose that he had been accused of manipulation of stocks, misconduct and embezzlement. Prosecutor Seo is determined to prove the professional misconduct of the Soonyang family, and she seizes assets at the Hyeon-woo office.
