Books Are Fun Book Blast

The grand prize was an iPad. Kids love when Officer Angie stops by to chat over lunch. Kindergarten student, Millie Gowdy and first grader, Devin Toney, were the fundraising leaders for their grade level. Over 400 award certificates were handed out. Bramlett Elementary students participated in the Book Blast program to help build our students' home libraries. Jefferson will have a $3400 shopping spree to spend on books for our Book Vending Machine and other items from the Books Are Fun website. In cooperation with the family and community, the District is dedicated to educating the whole child with special emphasis placed on dignity and self worth. We also know that reading to a child or listening to a child read is a wonderful way to create a unique and special bond together. It will take you less than 15 minutes and there is NO financial requirement for you.

Blast Really Great Reading

We're having a Book Blast at Flasher Public School to help our students build their home libraries and ensure that all of our students have books. Thanks to Michelle Obama School's band and orchestra students for coming over to Mohawk to introduce third grade students to instruments, play a few songs, and ignite interest in hopes of recruiting students for 4th grade. Congratulations, Jack Conner, for being our 2nd Book Blast Treasure Chest stuffed with cash winner! Congratulations, Kennedi Hancock! "Juice Kiffin" celebrated literacy by making an appearance for the students along with the arrival of the books. School resumes Wed. Jan. 4th. The ARIS library received an $800 shopping spree with the funds left over from the event, and the library purchased books to put on the shelves for check out so that all students could use them! From November 1st through December 9th, ARIS students collected cans to be donated to the Millbrook WELCOME center. The goal for each student was to raise $100, which netted those reaching this benchmark at least 10 new books to take home and enjoy. They are getting ready to add up the inches of snow. This guaranteed each of NJES' 600-plus students received at least three brand new, age-appropriate books to take home! Dear Putnam County R-I Elementary Families, Exciting news!
