First birthdays and cake smashes land right up there as one of the most memorable and fun moments and Russ's "Where The Wild Things Are" themed cake smash was no exception! The challenge was to take a book about a little boy named Max, and make the theme feminine and soft. His smash cake was from my favorite bakery in town, Something Blue Bakery. I have had the privilege of photographing this little guy's newborn and six month session and let me tell you, he has been nothing short of a dream every time! Unbelievable actually! Vonn came to his session wearing this Beastie Boys t-shirt, it was too adorable to pass up!

I was just delighted when Lucy's mom asked me to create a Where the Wild Things Are themed cake smash! Her floral crown, as well as a lei of plumeria were pretty little touches! Shawna makes all of the smash cakes for me and this one was simply too cute. Cakes with basic decorations are included in all of my cake smash sessions. My cheeks were aching by the end of the session from smiling so hard watching him devour the cake! Vonn had a great time splashing about in the tub and it made for a quick and easy clean up.
