We at Sagers Garden Travelers have conducted
garden tours in 35 states and four countries. We want to share the gardens
of the presidents and patriots with you. Get the answers to your garden

In addition to gardens, we will visit colonial and
Civil War sites, explore the harbor front, enjoy the brilliant colors of

of Civil War heros who shaped the South at the Museum of the Confederacy.
Dine colonial style at the 3 diamond Mr. Patrick Henry in the heart of
old Richmond. Roam through Shirley Plantation, America's oldest. See original
silver, portraits, furniture and an amazing carved walnut staircase
rising three stories with no visible support. Walk through picturesque
outbuildings in the Queen Anne courtyard. Shop for nearly anything at a
shoppers' paradise -- Williamsburg Pottery Factory. Hit Parade USA at the
Music Theater of Williamsburg is rollicking fun, family fare. Enjoy 40's
big band music, 50's swing , and early 60's good time music. Stay two nights

Feel like you visited the year 1775 at Colonial Williamsburg, America's
premier historic town. Spend your day with costumed officials, soldiers,
tradespeople, and housewives filling 1700's duties. See the splendor of
the Governor's Palace and Gardens, authentic homes, taverns, shops and
gardens and a fife and drum parade or military drill.

The Norfolk Botanical Gardens is a "don't miss" attraction. Stroll through
20 magnificent theme gardens. Explore tropical plants in the climate-controlled
Tropical Pavilion. Enjoy the boat tour through the lovely landscapes. After
a waterside lunch at the three star Ship's Cabin Restaurant, the sea beckons
us to Mariners' Museum on Chesapeake Bay. See how seamen braved, explored
and defended themselves for centuries. Discover rare books, maps, and navigation
artifacts. Return that night to the Amerisuites Hotel in Richmond.

Visit Kenmore Plantation and Gardens, home to Betty Washington Lewis, George
Washington's sister. Stroll tree-lined paths, boxwood hedges, flower and
herb and domed pavilions filled with plants she grew. Imagine Mary Washington
giving her son, George, her blessing before he left the Mary Washington
House for his inauguration. See old English Gardens and boxwoods Lafayette
saw when he visited George Washington, gentleman farmer, savored life at
Mount Vernon. Delight in the premier 18th century landscaping he designed.
Roam serpentine paths amid graceful colonial trees to his garden, orangery,
innovative horse powered threshing house and the family tomb. Our Farewell
Evening will cap off our last night of the tour.

Our motor coach will take us through the 444-acre National Arboretum. to
get ideas for your garden. See the superb Bonsai Collection featuring 360-year-old
trees and the country's largest herb garden. Dumbarton Oaks estate garden
reflects quiet elegance in 16 planted acres. Inspect the "garden rooms,"
set like extensions of the house, with many Italian features. We will return
that evening via a nonstop flight to Salt Lake City.
