Come with Sagers Garden Travelers to visit the fabulous fall Gardens of the Presidents and Patriots.
Virginia and is home to magnificent historic gardens, wonderful modern-day gardens, museums and historic sites.
Much early history of the United States took place in Virginia and that state was the place that many of the founding fathers called home. Many were expert in horticulture and created estates that showed their taste and farming ingenuity.
Jefferson and Washington in particular designed and operated homes and plantations using horticultural methods that were far ahead of their time. Explore these wonderful estates and other stately plantations of Virginia with their beautiful mansions and grounds and gardens.
Spend a day going back to 1775 with the housewives, officials, tradesmen and soldiers of the era and get a sense of what life was really like in colonial times. The buildings and gardens at Colonial Williamsburg hail from the period and the actors who take the parts of the citizens stay true to their characters as they share their colonial lives with you at this don’t-miss attraction.
Discover the history of flight at The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the companion facility to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum on the National Mall. This fabulous new facility is well worth exploring.
The Norfolk Botanical Gardens is one of America’s finest display gardens where you will find award winning displays.
